Never Fade Away

This is the walkthrough for Never Fade Away, a mission in the Automatic Love questline in Cyberpunk 2077. This quest takes place in the middle of Transmission. In this mission, you will assume control of Johnny Silverhand once again and embark on a rescue mission to find Alt Cunningham.

Step 1: The Concert

• Assume control of Johnny and kick off the cyberspace version of the concert. After the concert, Johnny enters his dressing room and meets Alt Cunningham.

Step 2: Alt’s Disappearance

• Follow Alt outside, but soon encounter a group of hostile men. Fight them off, but regardless of the outcome, Alt is kidnapped and Johnny is left wounded in the street.

Step 3: Meeting Thompson

• Johnny wakes up on Milt Nauman’s operating table. Talk to the ripperdoc and Thompson, the reporter who saved Johnny. Learn that Alt has been taken by Arasaka.

Step 4: The Atlantis Club

• Head to the club The Atlantis. You can choose to ask around for Rogue and help people Johnny knows, or go straight to the bouncer guarding the door illuminated with a pink light. Talk to him and enter the club.

Step 5: Finding Rogue

• Approach Rogue, overhearing her conversation with Santiago. Join forces with Santiago as three Arasaka agents interrupt the conversation. Take them down.

Step 6: Clearing the Hallway

• Proceed down the hallway and eliminate two more Arasaka agents. Then, clear out the enemies in the second floor bar area. Find cover and evade the helicopter fire if necessary.

Step 7: Downstairs Battle

• Head downstairs and defeat another agent on the stairs. Clear out three more enemies in the final obstacle before reaching the elevator.

Step 8: Rescuing Alt at Arasaka Tower

• Take the elevator with Rogue and Santiago to the Parking level. Battle four Arasaka agents in the courtyard, then three more up the stairs.

Step 9: Escaping Arasaka Pursuit

• Drive Johnny’s Porsche and face off against three cars filled with Arasaka agents. Shoot the front of the cars to explode them and eliminate the passengers.

Step 10: Planning the Rescue

• Meet up with the team to discuss the rescue plan. Prepare for the final push.

Step 11: Assault on Arasaka Tower

• Enter Arasaka Tower and face six Arasaka agents. Use cover to your advantage and take them out strategically. Recover health when needed.

Step 12: Progressing through the Tower

• Clear the next room, taking down two agents downstairs and one upstairs. Move to the next room and defeat two more agents. Destroy a minigun turret. Proceed to the red room.

Step 13: Final Confrontation

• Eliminate two more agents and two turrets in the room upstairs. Proceed to the metal double doors and let Thompson use explosives. Enter the final room and defeat four remaining enemies, including Akira in a white coat.

Step 14: Reaching Alt

• After clearing the room, reach Alt. Watch the scene play out and react to Thompson’s actions. Return to cyberspace as V with Johnny.

Step 15: Beyond the Blackwall

• Approach the pulsing Blackwall and cross to the other side. Alt informs Johnny that he cannot remain there. Follow Alt to the next area.

Step 16: The Final Conversation

• Engage in a conversation with Alt, Johnny, and Brigitte. Gather information and set your plan. When ready, Alt sends you back.

Congratulations! You have completed the Never Fade Away mission in Cyberpunk 2077. You are now ready to proceed to the next part of the Transmission questline.
