The Tapeworm Main Job in Cyberpunk 2077 takes place over the course of four different occasions. This guide will provide a complete walkthrough of the Tapeworm mission, including every major choice and consequence that is available during the mission. It’s worth noting that your choices during this mission will not have any effect on the overall story, giving you the option to block Johnny with the help of pills or simply listen to his conversations.

Step 1: Speak with Johnny After Search and Destroy

After completing the Search and Destroy main job, V’s condition will continue to deteriorate due to malfunctions. Once V has regained composure, engage in a conversation with Johnny to hash out your differences. This conversation will reveal more about Johnny’s past and his experiences with death.

Step 2: Speak with Johnny After Life During Wartime

After completing the Life During Wartime main job, the Relic will malfunction again, causing V to become sick. Find Johnny sitting on a nearby bench and engage in a conversation with him. Johnny will express his frustrations about the war against corporations and the need to stop them.

Choice 1: Sympathize with Johnny
Choice 2: Disagree with Johnny

Step 3: Speak with Johnny After Transmission

After completing the Transmission main job, V will encounter Johnny again and experience a serious malfunction, resulting in a blackout. Upon waking up, you will find yourself in Pacifica. Speak with Johnny and discuss the fact that you almost flatlined. Follow Johnny outside of the building and climb through a window when prompted.

Step 4: Open the Hidden Cache in Pacifica

While following Johnny, he will inform you about a hidden cache in a room. Open the cache and discover several of Johnny’s belongings. This will lead to a lengthy conversation between V and Johnny, where they share personal stories and experiences. Johnny will express his wish for revenge on Adam Smasher, the person who took his life.

Step 5: Make a Choice and End the Mission

During the conversation, you will have the option to give or deny Johnny control of your body. Make your choice, and then climb back through the window to end the Tapeworm mission.
