The Battle of Pylos
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Here is your comprehensive guide to complete the The Battle of Pylos mission in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
Step 1: Sail to the Island of Pylos and speak to the officer on the beach.
- Upon arriving at the Island of Pylos, seek out the officer located on the beach.
- Engage in conversation with him, even if he appears reluctant to speak.
- Remember that the outcome of this conversation does not affect the mission.
- Once the conversation concludes, the conquest battle for Pylos will commence.
Step 2: Take down the enemy captains to reduce the enemy’s status bar.
- Similar to previous missions like The Final Push and The Conqueror, your goal is to eliminate the enemy captains.
- Tag them to keep track of their locations and defeat them to lower the enemy’s status bar at the top of the screen.
- Focus on taking down the captains efficiently.
Useful Tips:
- Gear, Abilities, and personal skill are crucial in combat. Make sure you are well-equipped and leveled up.
- Adjust the difficulty level if necessary to ensure a fair challenge.
- Different weapons have unique attack patterns and reach. Experiment with various weapons to find your preferred playstyle.
- Fast-hitting weapons like daggers are ideal for applying Poison and Fire effects.
- After successfully parrying an attack, follow up with a Heavy Attack for crowd control or a Light Attack for single-target combos.
- Note that the Spartan Kick ability is ineffective in conquest battles without ledges to kick enemies off.
Step 3: Engage in the battle against Deimos.
- As the enemy’s status bar reaches halfway, the screen will fade to black, and a cutscene will play.
- Deimos will enter the battlefield, causing massive destruction.
- Regardless of the situation, you must fight Deimos during this battle.
Step 4: Dodge Deimos’s area attacks and counter with close-quarters abilities.
- Deimos possesses several area attacks.
- After these attacks, seize the opportunity to strike with close-quarters abilities like Hero Strike.
- Be cautious and dodge Deimos’s attacks whenever possible.
- Be especially wary of a medium-range attack without any warning, which can be dodged.
Step 5: Lower Deimos’s health to trigger a cutscene.
- As you deplete about a quarter of Deimos’s health, the screen will fade again, and a cutscene will play.
- Deimos will confront the player, and a tree will fall on them.
- This moment presents a choice that will have consequences.
Step 6: Wake up in prison and confront Deimos and Kleon.
- After the cutscene, you will wake up in prison in Athens.
- Deimos will approach you once again.
- Try to convince them that they are being used by revealing the truth.
- Engage in conversation and choose dialogue options such as We didn’t abandon you, Our mother searched for you, She thought you were dead, and I was thrown off, too.
Step 7: Face off against guards in an unarmed battle.
- No matter what dialogue choices are made, Kleon will interrupt the conversation and send guards to attack you.
- This will be an unarmed battle, and you will not be able to use abilities.
- Defend yourself against the guards and emerge victorious.
By following these steps, you will be able to conquer The Battle of Pylos in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Remember to equip yourself with proper gear, utilize your abilities effectively, and adapt your strategy to defeat Deimos and overcome the challenges ahead. Good luck, Misthios!
